OUR STORY

A NOTE FROM OUR PASTORS

When we tell people about our family's decision to move to Long Beach, California, to start a new church the first reaction is usually, "Wow that's exciting! But why Long Beach?"

To us, it was only a matter of time before we came "home." We are originally Southern California natives, but we have been out of the state for over a decade working with national prayer ministries in Kansas City, MO, and a local church in Chicago, IL. When our hearts were moved to start a new church to reach new people, we prayed and dreamed about the possibility of coming back to California and we fell in love with the people and culture of Long Beach! The diversity, the big city, but small-town feel, the artistic culture, the international influence, and the desire that this city has to make an impact in their own neighborhoods were some of the main elements that resonated with us.

Also, we just want to give back! Daniel and Autumn come from the opposite ends of the spectrum. On one end, Daniel grew up in the Greater LA Area, and as teenage drug dealer he had a powerful spiritual experience with Jesus that changed the trajectory of his life. He says, "I was one without hope and purpose. I can't help but think about the 'ones' who are still out there." On the other end, Autumn grew up as a fourth generation pastor's kid with roots in LA and San Diego. We felt called to come back to California to where our lives were rooted and changed forever to start a church for all people, no matter what their background is. What God did for us in Southern California, we want to do for others!

Our mission as the Anthem Church is to lead people to know God and fulfill their purpose. We look forward to serving this beautiful city and we can't wait to meet you!

I was the one without hope and purpose. I can’t help but think about the ‘ones’ who are still out there.
